Now, they all need to start/keep fighting each other instead of moving up the division, except for Crawford maybe. 154 is one of the hottest divisions because many of the top fighters are willing to fight each other. In recent years we've had: Fundora vs Lubin Lubin vs Ramos Jr Mendoza vs Fundora Mendoza vs Tszyu Fundora vs Tszyu Bohachuk vs Mendoza Crawford vs Madrimov Bohachuk vs Ortiz Jr Murtazaliev vs Culcay Murtazaliev vs Tszyu We've got Madrimov vs Bohachuk signed for December 21st. The lineal champion Jermell Charlo has said he is returning. Michel Soro, Erickson Lubin if he gets active & Yoenis Tellez are all on the fringe for that 10th spot. Brandon Adams (who holds a KO victory over Bohachuk) has recorded 2 solid wins after a 3 year hiatus. Abass Baraou, Josh Kelly, Radzhab Butaev... this division has a lot of depth. RE: Jr. Middleweight world scene - diehard - 10-26-2024 Jamieson, with your extension knowledge of all things boxing, you ought to write for Eastside. I did a few articles a while back when Tua and Cameron were fighting. The Eastside CEO/boss is very approachable...anyway, great analysis. RE: Jr. Middleweight world scene - jamieson2 - 10-26-2024 There are enough so called boxing journalists/ experts out there Diehard. I'm happy just to post my thoughts & opinions here. That's awesome you wrote a few articles. Are they posted on NZBoxChat somewhere? If not you should post them on here if you still have them. RE: Jr. Middleweight world scene - diehard - 10-26-2024 Nah, nothing to brag about. Just covered some of the Tua and Cameron fights when I was in Auckland. Mr Higgins was always nice to me, and got me ringside seats to cover the fights for Eastside. He used to post for me on the Tua website, and then on some of Parker's fights. It was a good, fun time for me. Eastside was happy to have a NZ'er cover the fights. I posted the fights when I moderated the Tua website back in the day and that's when I wrote for Eastside. Then James Slater started doing the same thing with the Tua fights and I just figured I didn't need to stay involved. Love having you post on here! RE: Jr. Middleweight world scene - jamieson2 - 10-27-2024 That sounds great Diehard. I used to get press credentials for some of the fights over here for another old boxing forum but now I like to focus on the fights & fighters that interest me. It started to feel like a burden at times, rather than a passion for the fights. If that makes any sense... I plan to keep posting here for a good while yet. RE: Jr. Middleweight world scene - diehard - 10-27-2024 Yeah, I hated writing up the rounds for Eastside instead of just watching the fights. But hey, ringside seats! RE: Jr. Middleweight world scene - jamieson2 - 11-30-2024 If Vergil Ortiz Jr remains on the February 22nd card I could see him fighting Josh Kelly. Would rather he fight "Boots" but I'm okay with Kelly.
