Terence Crawford directed to ‘kill and destroy’ Jeff Horn
GRANTLEE KIEZA, The Courier-Mail
May 27, 2018 11:58am

AMERICA’S unbeaten boxing master Terence Crawford is under instructions to “kill and destroy’’ Australia’s mild mannered Jeff Horn in their world welterweight title fight in Las Vegas next week.

Declaring war on “The Fighting Schoolteacher’’ and his coach Glenn Rushton, Crawford’s controversial trainer Brian “Bomac’’ McIntyre has opened fire in a foul-mouthed tirade to Fox Sports.

“All my fighters have that attitude of wanting to kill and destroy – seek and destroy because we come from nothing,’’ said McIntyre, a former heavyweight boxer who has guided Crawford to two world championships and is confident he will make it three against world welterweight champ Horn on Sunday week at the MGM Grand Casino.

“The pressure’s on Horn but I don’t give a damn where the pressure’s at because Horn’s still getting his ass whipped. I’m gonna look right at his coach [Rushton] and say ‘you a*******’. I tried to tell you that we was gonna win - you been talking all that s***, putting all that s*** in the newspaper – all that s*** on social media and you didn’t have a clue what you were going up against.

“I think Horn and his coach are scared because they know that Terence Crawford is going to whip Jeff Horn’s butt.’’

Fuck Jeff Horn,,,the new @RayRobinson147 want be able to help you,,you still have time to back out the fight.

Ten years ago Crawford survived a gunshot wound to the head and in an interview with Fox Sports at his training camp in Colorado Springs, he said he expected Horn to be super aggressive.

“The main thing is Horn’s gonna come in there and try to bully me and be aggressive because he feels he’s the bigger man,’’ Crawford said.

“Horn is a decent fighter. I can’t take nothing away from him. He’s made it to where he’s at. Now he’s undefeated, a world champion and he just beat Manny Pacquiao.

“But their little tactics, what they’re doing and what they are saying is not going to get me off my game plan or distract me at all. I feel good I feel strong.

Terence Crawford is supremely confident.
“I can give Horn all he wants. If he wants to absorb the punishment so be it.’’

McIntyre described Horn as “a determined fighter’’ ahead of the June 10 bout at the MGM Grand Casino.

“He don’t have much skills,’’ McIntyre told Fox Sports. “He bounces around a lot but he comes to fight every single fight. He does come in shape that’s the good part about him – he will come and challenge – he will challenge Terence and that’s great because we need the best out of Terence this fight and Horn will bring the best out of Terence.

“I just can’t wait to shut his coach up and get my hands on that belt.’’

McIntyre, 47, had a professional boxing record of seven wins in 21 fights and in 2004 lost to Butterbean, the world’s fattest fighter.

Jeff Horn is ready the new biggest fight of his career.
He is furious with Rushton after Horn’s coach called Crawford “a princess’’ for pulling out of the original fight date on April 14, citing a minor hand injury.

Rushton laughs off McIntyre’s criticisms of Horn as being unskilled by saying that Horn made the quarter-finals of the London Olympics after just four years in the sport and that Crawford didn’t even make it to those Games.

As far as McIntyre’s threats to knock Rushton out when he sees him, Rushton says: “McIntyre’s nickname is ‘Bomac’ but I call him ‘Big Mac’.

“How dare he challenge me. I’m 60 but having been involved in martial arts for more than four decades I fear no man. I spent years working on doors in Brisbane and I tackled many men much bigger and tougher than Brian McIntyre. He should grow up and act his age.

“Jeff Horn will put him and Terence Crawford in their place next week. Make no mistake we are going to America to knock Crawford out.’’

Jeff Horn: No Fear of Terence Crawford, I'm Going To Win

WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn (18-0-1, 12 KOs) is feeling very confident in training days, as he counts down the days for a scheduled showdown with mandatory challenger Terence Crawford (32-0, 23 KOs).

The contest takes place on June 9th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

As weeks continue to pass, there has been a lot of trash talking between the two teams.

Crawford, regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, is a huge favorite to win the fight.

Horn believes Crawford and his handlers are attempting to get in his head - which he says won't happen regardless of what they say to him.

“They’re trying to make me feel nervous and to doubt myself, but I haven’t done that for a second,” Horn tells Fox Sports.

“I’m not scared of this guy. You have to be confident in boxing, if you go in there thinking you’re going to lose then that’s exactly what will happen.”

There has been some controversy over the gloves - with Horn’s trainer Glenn Rushton expressing concern that Crawford was going to potentially use horsehair gloves.

Horn is not concerned about the brand of gloves worn by Crawford.

“I’m not worried about the gloves, I haven’t sparred using the horse hair gloves because they’re too small for sparring. It’s all just distraction and tactics,” Horn said.

“I’ve worked harder for this fight than I ever have. I’ll be pushing hard, pressuring him throughout the fight. I’ll be thinking about my family, about my wife and daughter, going to the places that lift me when I need to dig deep.

“He has a devastating left hand, he can hurt you in the body or in the head. He’s able to switch-hit. But that’s all right, I have a few plans of my own. It won’t be like Brisbane, that’s for sure. There will be plenty of boos, but you can use that to your advantage as a fighter, too.”
