Charles Martin ready to be a superstar
Unbeaten heavyweight Charles Martin is confident that he has what it takes to defeat former Olympic Bronze Medalist Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov and claim the vacant IBF heavyweight title on January 16 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

“He’s never been in the ring with a fighter like me,” said Martin on a conference call with reporters this week. “I’m no Cunningham. I’m no Tor Hamer. I’m none of these guys that he fought. I’m totally a different fighter than he’s ever seen. So come fight night, I’m ready to prove it to the whole wide world. I’m ready to be that superstar. We train like superstars. If you’re going to train mediocre, you’ll be mediocre, and that’s what I see out of a lot of fighters, heavyweights, especially. But we train to be a superstar and that’s what you guys are going to see.”

Martin acknowledges that Glazkov is the best opponent he’s faced to date.

“He’s definitely a step up on paper,” stated Martin. “His resume reads well. He’s a good fighter. He’s technical, keeping his hands up and stuff like that, has a pretty nice hook. But I got to give you the ups and the downs. He’s a little guy. I’m massive, strong, powerful, elusive. He’s definitely going to be in there for the hardest fight of his life that he’ll ever have.”

Two exciting heavyweight fights happening next weekend.

Szpilka vs Wilder

Martin vs Glazkov

After these two fights, we can see where Parker needs to go in the alphabets.

Just checked, not yet. They have Sky pop-ups during the week, so I'll keep checking...It's usually channel 62 or 65...here's hoping.

Did anyone watch Chisora's latest fight against Andros Csomor last night (Euro time)? He's very active, fought 5 times in 6 months but level of opposition is dreadful and it shows in his willingness to fight or prepare himself.

He's specifically said in interviews that it's only about money for him now so is just waiting to cash out on AJ,JP or Haye. Which over of the three gets to him first will destroy him.

Dellboy should be getting a shot at the Euro belt next a victory there and he might be getting near another title shot.

I have to say that he gave a Haye a tough fight last time and given Haye's inactivity i dont see it being any easier for him.

Chisora would be the best fighter JP or AJ has fought. I find it funny how Chisora looks about as bad as Wlad against Fury and now both of them are washed up. Maybe Fury is really quite good?

Chisora beat Scott and should already have a W against Helenius. On paper its hard not put him atleast par with a Takam who alot of people are high on.
