By Pasi Taavitsainen

Heavyweight Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius (28-2, 17 KOs) scored a spectacular eighth round KO over IBF #7 rated former Euro champ Erkan Teper (19-3, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Ritter Sport Stadion in Waldenbuch, Germany. A left hook by the 6’7 Helenius laid out Teper. Helenius claims the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Inter-Continental heavyweight title.

Teper was the guy that casually walked through David Price a few years ago. Interesting little circle of fighters these guys run in.

Helenius has been all over the place. was a prospect with a big punch, had some legal issues with a promoter that kept him out of the ring for a few years, gift decisions, injuries, short notice fights. Wonder where he will go next.

Good to see you again, Steven! Helenius looked terrible against Whyte. I really rated him before. Not now.

Good win for Helenius even though Teper is awful now that hes off the PEDs. Helenius can still make a lot of money out of the sport.

Always been here Diehard, but against the backdrop of veterans, trainers and fighters here, my opinion isn't required.

Speaking of veterans, Adamek is in the ring today against Jarrell Miller. I know nothing about Miller, but that size difference is frightening.

Always like hearing from you, Steven.  Regarding Miller:  Miller moves well.  He boxes ok, with ok power.  I just don't rate him highly, certainly not on a par with his big mouth.  I think Adamek may be able to out-maneuver him.  It would be a huge upset, but not impossible.  Miller sometimes shares his training camp with Wilder.

I was hoping there would be some areas that Adamek could exploit. He out-maneuvered Chris Arreola when he was a real prospect, but that was 10 years ago. I would love a huge upset.

Unbeaten Dubois defeats Kevin Johnson

Unbeaten heavyweight Daniel Dubois (9-0, 8 KOs) went the distance for the first time against veteran Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (32-11-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Leicester Arena in Leicester, England. 2-year-old Dubois swept nearly all ten rounds (100-91) in an uneventful fight against the 39-year-old Johnson, who dropped his third straight.

Unbeaten WBO #2 rated super lightweight Jack Catterall (23-0, 12 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Ohara Davies (18-2, 14 KOs). The bout was a disappointing chess match with both boxers fighting cautiously. Scores were 118-110, 115-113, 15-113. Catterall retained the WBO Intercontinental title.

2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams (5-0, 3 KOs) claimed the WBO interim flyweight title with a ten round unanimous decision over Isabel Millan (22-5-1, 8 KOs). Scores were 96-92, 97-93, 97-93.
