That 20% must be looking a damn sight better right about now, huh?

The fight is now a done deal. Heavyweight contender Christian Hammer (22-4, 12 KOs) of Germany has signed a contract for the planned fight with former world champion Alexander Povetkin (32-1, 23 KOs). At their recent annual convention, the World Boxing Organization sanctioned Povetkin vs. Hammer as a final WBO eliminator for a world title shot at Joseph Parker.

Yeah I know. You have to respect Wilder for going over there. Even if the fight was canned

Interestingly, since Ortiz is suspended for a year, it looks like the WBA mandatory could be the Povetkin - Hammer winner. Good for JP if that is what happens.

Joshua is the WBA champion, why is good for Parker?

Because Joshua may have to fight Povetkin soon, if that happens Povetkin will no longer be JPs mandatory.

That would be a good outcome .
Povetkin is a serial juicer and a dangerous beast.
The Parker haters be gleefully rubbing their hands together at that thought of Joe being served up to this guy in Russia . Who cares if his opponent is more radioactive than Chernobyl , it serves JP right for winning that belt.
Force him on AJ as mandatory and see how they like it.
After all AJ can beat anyone without breaking a sweat when he’s not really trying ,bored ,lackadaisical , only at 70%, has the flu and on his worst night.
It should be no problem for him.

At least it will be a level playing field, both juiced to the gills.
