RE: Joseph Parker - mippy - 08-27-2017 I don't see $50.00 of value in that fight. No idea of the undercard fighters. Also think there's a high chance the main event will be a stinker RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 08-27-2017 https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/96156504/joseph-parker-tipped-for-spectacular-win-over-hughie-fury-in-wbo-world-heavyweight-title-defence RE: Joseph Parker - mippy - 08-27-2017 (08-27-2017, 11:56 AM)diehard Wrote: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/96156504/joseph-parker-tipped-for-spectacular-win-over-hughie-fury-in-wbo-world-heavyweight-title-defence I want to believe... RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 08-27-2017 Some of the undercard: MANCHESTER’S Jimmy “Kilrain” Kelly will contest the vacant WBO Inter-Continental super-welterweight belt on the undercard of Hughie Fury’s challenge for the WBO heavyweight title against Joseph Parker at Manchester Arena on September 23. Kelly will feature as chief support on a card that includes the British bantamweight championship showdown between Josh Wale and Don Broadhurst, plus a British lightweight title eliminator between Joe Murray and Matty Fagan. RE: Joseph Parker - Msreef - 08-27-2017 "As far as my comparisons, because that's what I do a lot of times, I compare opponents, I compare camps ... out of a Wladimir camp, a Deontay camp, a Joseph Parker camp, one thing I can say about Joseph is he's extremely concentrated," I was hoping Malik Scott would praise JPs boxing strengths. Saying he's concentrated isn't much of an endorsement. RE: Joseph Parker - Ibeabuchi - 08-27-2017 I cant see this fight happening, the Furys are going to pull aomething RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 08-30-2017 Parker training on the pads: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011704010336&hc_ref=ARRUKSHPqoIIbrQsNE_5_yBnMCIbIb9rgXrzasyF5-PNa5_BIlAKv0qU1Zn5PANUBDg RE: Joseph Parker - U.K. Fight Fan - 08-31-2017 (08-27-2017, 12:43 AM)Infern0 Wrote:(08-26-2017, 06:57 PM)diehard Wrote: Just got my SKY Magazine and they want $50 for Parker/Fury. I know that Mr Higgins is still promoting it, but I thought with a co-promotion with Warren, and it being in Manchester, it would be much less. Anyone know how much it'll be in the UK? I think it's on ITV PPV mate. Says ITV Box Office on boxrec and that's whats doing the rounds on other forums. Heard a rumour it will be £10. Which is probably what it's worth to be honest. RE: Joseph Parker - U.K. Fight Fan - 08-31-2017 (08-27-2017, 10:04 AM)mippy Wrote: I don't see $50.00 of value in that fight. No idea of the undercard fighters. Also think there's a high chance the main event will be a stinker I agree. The main event isn't strong enough so it needed a good undercard, but instead it's one of the worst i've seen in the UK for a world title event. They could end up being good scraps but low quality stuff. Only fighters worth looking out for are Haroon Khan who's Amir Khan's brother, and Lyndon Arthur who is a good prospect. Both facing 'TBA' though so can't imagine their fights will be competitive. Jimmy Kelly is OK too but he's facing a guy with 7 losses. RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 08-31-2017 Hughie Fury: I'll KO Joseph Parker in the fourth round Hughie Fury has boldly declared he will knock out Joseph Parker in the fourth round to win the WBO world heavyweight title. Parker defends his belt for the second time when he fronts Fury in Manchester on September 23 in a battle of two young unbeaten fighters. Fury has been talking tough in the leadup to the fight and ramped that up when asked for a prediction for his victory. Joseph Parker is determined to make a statement in the UK by knocking out Hughie Fury. "Four rounds I would say. Four rounds ... knock out," he told WOTV. Parker has also voiced his determination to score a knockout win and hammer home his abilities to the British market where he believes bigger fights lie beyond Fury. Fury hasn't fought in earnest since April last year, but the 22-year-old said he had no fears of ring rust. "Not at all, I'm super confident. I have done all of my sparring and I'm ready to go. I've been out a while but it's done me good. Hughie Fury believes he has the power to KO Joseph Parker. "I think Joseph Parker is a very good fighter and you can't take anything away from him, he's a world champion. It's going to be an exciting fight." There is no lack of feeling to the fight that was originally scheduled for Auckland in May only for Fury to pull out late, citing a back injury. He felt having the fight rescheduled for Manchester would help him though he stressed the result would be the same. "I've always said if it's home or away the outcome is always going to be the same. But it's nice to have a home show, every bit helps." Meanwhile, Tony Bellew, the British fighter Parker is eyeing as a potential fight beyond Fury, has reiterated his belief he could beat the Kiwi. Bellew, a former world cruiserweight champion, beat fellow Brit David Haye earlier this year to signal his heavyweight claims and he is eager to go for a world title, believing Parker's WBO belt is the most vulnerable. "He's a good guy and a nice fella but I would knock Joseph Parker out, if the fight ever happened. We'll see," Bellew, who caught up with Parker in Las Vegas last weekend when both attended Floyd Mayweather's win over Conor McGregor. Bellew felt Fury was an unknown quantity and could be tricky for Parker. "He's got a tough test on his hands in Hughie Fury. We don't actually know how good Hughie is, but we're going to find out in September." - Stuff |
