RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 05-16-2017 Parker/Whye--Parker Ko's him in a slugfest Parker/Hughie--Parker by UD Parker/Bellew--Parker KO as Bellew engages and is too small Parker/AJ or Wilder--don't want to think about it right now RE: Joseph Parker - U.K. Fight Fan - 05-17-2017 (05-16-2017, 11:50 PM)diehard Wrote: Parker/Whye--Parker Ko's him in a slugfest I can see them happening. Id go for: Parker/Whye--Parker by MD or SD in a slugfest. Whyte has a decent chin and fires straight back whenever he gets hit which make his fights close e.g chisora fight. The UK crowd would influence the judges also. Parker/Hughie-- Lots of questions over that one. I'll go with a very close UD for Hughie where he starts to lose a healthy lead as he wilts towards the end. Parker/Bellew--Parker late KO. Bellew would make it cagey but Parker would get to him eventually. Parker/AJ or Wilder--AJ and Wilder by KO. AJ by systematic breakdown stoppage between 5-10. Wilder in a close fight where he hurts Parker late on and the ref jumps in as Wilder starts winging. Could also see Wilder try to use the tactics he used against Stiverne and just frustrate Parker using his length. Parker is against it because he'll be the away fighter in all of them. Any close fight could see it swing towards his opponent. RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 05-18-2017 Tony Bellew: I Did What Klitschko Couldn't Do, I Can Beat Parker! Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs) is ready for the biggest fight possible in the heavyweight division - and he wants that fight to come against a world champion. This past March, Bellew pulled off a major upset when he moved up to heavyweight division to stop London rival David Haye in the eleventh round at the O2 Arena. Bellew nearly retired after the contest, but decided to keep his career going to achieve a single career goal - to capture a heavyweight title. Bellew points out that he was able to accomplish something that former division ruler, Wladimir Klitschko, failed to do. A lot of critics will point out that Haye ruptured his Achilles during the contest and basically fought on one leg. "I have just beaten the former heavyweight champion of the world and I stopped him. I did something Wladimir Klitschko couldn’t do and I know people will make the most of his injury. But if it had gone the way he was saying; he would beat me in two rounds, he would leave me in a coma, the kids would have to visit me in hospital - they were his words not mine," Bellew told Chronicle Live. “I was just happy to win and I want to see how far I can go. Can I win the World heavyweight championship? I don’t know. But I am willing to take the risk and have a go at doing it. Am I big enough? No, not really. Am I good enough? Possibly." The opponent that Bellew wants most is WBO world champion Joseph Parker - because the two of them are similar in size. Parker is not as polished or murderous of a puncher as the other two champions, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder. Bellew also feels that his edge in experience will greatly help him with Parker. “The big question is, can I beat Joseph Parker? I think I can. He thinks I can’t and that’s what will make people tune in. I am more experienced, I have fought at a much higher level than he has but at the same time, make no mistake, the guy is 17-and-a-half stone. I am 16-and-a-half stone and I should be 14-and-a-half stone. He is a big dude - a proper heavyweight," Parker said. - See more at: http://www.boxingscene.com/tony-bellew-i-what-klitschko-i-beat-parker--116629#sthash.o56eQ19C.dpuf RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 05-18-2017 Wilder's Manager: We're Aiming For Parker Unification in Summer If the WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) has his way, he would be fighting WBO champion Joseph Parker (23-0, 18 KOs) in a summer unification showdown. Right now both fighters have mandatory defenses in front of them, but they could be allowed to bypass those fights if a deal is reached for a unification. Parker has a mandatory due to Hughie Fury. They were set to fight last weekend, but Fury withdrew with a back injury and Parker instead won a decision over a late replacement. Wilder was ordered by the WBC to have a rematch with Bermane Stiverne - who Wilder easily beat for the title back in January 2015. Wilder, who last saw action in February when he knocked out Gerald Washington, wants to fight as soon as possible with Parker. “I want that fight as soon as possible. In July,” Wilder said to the Tuscaloosa News. “I’m looking to come back in July so hopefully we can get a date set in July to get this unification started. It’s almost like a tournament a little bit. It makes it interesting for the fans. “That’s the next step. I hope my team and (Parker’s) team can come together and we can agree on some terms and lets get this unification going already.” According to Wilder's co-manager, the negotiations with Parker's team is ongoing and they hope to reach an agreement for a date in July or August. “I think everybody wants unification,” said Jay Deas, Wilder’s co-manager and trainer. “It’s always a thing where unification trumps a mandatory. We’re aiming for Joseph Parker. We would love to fight Joseph Parker in July or August. We’ll go wherever we have to go. I think Joseph Parker wants the same thing. “I think negotiations are ongoing, and I think everybody involved wants it to happen. It’s really a matter of finding the right network and finding the right venue and finding the right date and making sure all that matches up. Because TV has a schedule, of course arenas are filled up with every conceivable sport and musical act, so it’s not easy to find a date, especially a Saturday. That has to fit and it has to be within the right time frame because it’s no good if we find out that Vegas has an opening eight months from now. That’s no good. We have to find the right combination of those things.” RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 05-18-2017 Peter Fury Confident Hughie Will Get Joseph Parker Title Shot Hughie Fury's father and trainer, Peter Fury, is adamant his son will get a shot at Joseph Parker's WBO world heavyweight title. The English boxer pulled out of his mandatory challenge for the WBO belt against Parker at the 11th hour last month, citing a back injury as the reason. The 25-year-old Parker then had to fight Romanian Razvan Cojanu in his first title defence - resulting in an unspectacular unanimous decision the way of Parker. Fury and his cousin, former undisputed heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, both face a UK Anti Doping hearing relating to allegations the two returned positive tests for banned substances last year. Both fighters were suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control following the allegations but Hughie Fury has just had his boxing license reinstated. The hearing was postponed on the weekend due to a conflict of interest involving a panel member. Taking to social media this morning, Peter Fury says Hughie still remains the WBO's mandatory challenger for Parker, despite the New Zealander chasing fights with other boxers like fellow Brit, Tony Bellew. Peter Fury says his son will likely fight twice this year, including the mandatory challenge against Parker. A new date for the UKAD hearing is yet to be set. RE: Joseph Parker - African Monkey - 05-18-2017 Joseph Parker is a very wanted man these days.
