Good line-up, VADR. Now we just need a headliner...Kali Meehan vs Leapai??? Will Amman be on the card?

Good fight! I thought Soi looked a little out of shape in his last one, hopefully he gets some good training/sparring in NZ.

I think Soi lost about 20kgs for that fight, and he hadn't fought in several years. He and Bryant were jumpstarting their career. I think the upcoming Super 8, with time to train and get in shape, should see them in good stead.

Whilst I have respect for everyone that gets into the ring as it's a tough place to be not to mention the work that goes in just to get to the ring, some people do their best to lose that respect.
Monty Bethen did against Carlos Spencer, that fight should have never happened!
If the rumor I've just been told about Monty fighting on the chcc super 8 card, well I think he will lose everyone's respect.
It's not gospel but it came from a mate who trains in a couple of gyms in Auckland and has been right before.
Monty was a league player, I get that, I've supported the warriors from day dot but he has a boxing background and even came out and said he had ambitions on world titles when he took it up full time even though that didn't last long.
So I've just heard he is going to take on an England cricketer (not sure which one). Sorry Monty but if you want to fight, fight a fighter! You are to experienced for guys like this. Who is matchmaking this fight???
I can see there being a backlash over this with Ryder and Slob already on the same card. At least the Ryder fight will bring a lot of interest and as I've already said I'm supportive of that.
I love what Super 8 are doing and like there previous events I will be paying the money to get this one on the tv, but I think this event could be under a lot of pressure to perform given it's a replay of the last one.
It will be success on corporate tables etc given there is not many events like this in the South Island but I'm picking the walk up crowd won't be too strong.
From what I've been told there is a lot of anger in local boxing circles towards the local cowboy promoter Sky Arena has teamed up with and I understand a lot of them will boycott this because of his involvement. It's a shame Sky aren't doing this one on there own.
Anyone heard anything on Kali's next fight, this super 8 is looking good to me but I wonder if the current bouts are enough to drag in the casual punter... a big main event would make it more appealing.
Obviously this is a rant but as I've said I'm looking forward to purchasing this event but I'm only saying what many others will be thinking...
Would love to know what others think on Mr Betham's fight, I hope it's Beefy Botham!!! maybe that's showing my age, he must be 50 by now

Thought his wife told Monty not to fight??? Yeah, man up Monty. A real fighter.

I hate to be the one to break this news but us men are very skilled at making it look like we are listening when we are actually not...
We can't multi task but we can turn our ears off... haha

The only English Cricketer (former) I can think of it being would be Freddie Flintoff, as he had one pro fight at heavyweight in 2012?
