RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-16-2022 I thought Yoka would crumble under better competition. But not against Bakole. RE: Heavyweight Division - bart - 05-16-2022 Bakole has been solid for good few years learning his trade- a guy who will probably never win a world title but will give the top guys decent work RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-18-2022 Bryan-Dubois Ticket Alert It’s title night at the Casino Miami Jai-Alai on Saturday, June 11 as “the world’s greatest boxing promoter” Don King stages a night of title fights on the card titled “The Fight for Freedom and Peace”. Tickets are on sale for $100, $75 and $50. The card will also be presented on Pay-Per-View. The main event of the evening will feature the WBA heavyweight championship pitting defending champion Trevor Bryan (22-0, 15 KOs) going up against the number one contender Daniel DuBois (17-1, 16 KOs) from Greenwich, London. Promoter King is working away at making an additional title fight or two for the card in his mission to bring an exciting night of boxing in Miami. The other title fights are the NABA Gold Heavyweight title fight featuring champion DaCarree Scott (7-0, 6 KOs) of Decatur, GA defending his title against Louisiana slugger in Jonathan Guidry (17-1-2, 5 KOs) from Dulac, LA. Guidry’s lone blemish came at the hands of Bryan. Florida’s NABA Cruiserweight Champion Johnnie Langston (10-3, 4 Kos) of Sarasota, FL will defend his title against Plantation, Florida’s Isaiah Thompson (6-1-1, 5 KOs). Tre’Sean Wiggins (13-5-3, 7 KOs), of Newburgh, NY will defend his NABA Welterweight championship against Ft. Lauderdale, Florida’s Travis Castellon (17-4-1, 12 KOs). RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-26-2022 Ex-WBA champ Charr returns Saturday Former WBA heavyweight world champion “Diamond Boy” Mahmoud Charr (32-4, 18 KOs) meets Nikola Milacic (21-2, 14 KOs) in a ten round bout on Saturday night outdoors at Die Bucht in Hamburg, Germany. It will be Charr’s first fight since stopping Christopher Lovejoy 12 months ago. Charr lost his WBA title when he was unable to defend the belt against Trevor Bryan. A number of other notable heavyweight bouts will also be on the card. Ali Eren Demirezen (15-1, 12 KOs), coming off his TKO over Gerald Washington on a January 1 PPV, meets 42-year-old former world title challenger Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (35-18-1, 19 KOs). Christian Hammer (26-9, 16 KOs), coming off a points defeat against world-rated Frank Sanchez, meets journeyman Drazan Janjanin (22-34, 19 KOs), and Michael Wallisch (22-5, 15 KOs), coming off a TKO loss to Murat Gassiev last year, faces Toni Thes (19-11-1, 13 KOs). Another heavyweight bout featuring unbeaten Victor Faust was canceled after Faust suffered a sparring injury. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-26-2022 https://fightnews.com/detroit-brawl-weights-4/132704 RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-27-2022 Wallin, Ergashev victorious WBC #10 rated heavyweight Otto Wallin (24-1, 14 KOs) cruised to a workmanlike unanimous 10-round decision over local hero Rydell Booker (26-6-1, 13 KOs) tonight in the main event of Salita Promotions’ Detroit Brawl event in the Lincoln Ballroom of the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan. The scores were 99-91, 100-90, 99-91. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-28-2022 Weights from Germany Mahmoud Charr 246.9 vs. Nikola Milacic 224.9 Ali Eren Demirezen 262.3 vs. Kevin Johnson 251.3 Michael Wallisch 233.7 vs. Toni Thes 220.5 Christian Hammer 257.9 vs. Drazan Janjanin 271.2 Mohammed Bekdash 180.8 vs. Nikoloz Berkatashvili 180.8 Branimir Malenica 174.6 vs. Slavisa Simeunovic 176.4 Venue: Die Bucht, Hamburg, Germany Promoter: EC Promotions TV: BILD+ (Germany) RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-29-2022 Charr destroys Milacic Former WBA heavyweight world champion “Diamond Boy” Mahmoud Charr (33-4, 19 KOs) blew away Nikola Milacic (21-3, 14 KOs) in round three on Saturday night outdoors at Die Bucht in Hamburg, Germany. Easy work for Charr who dropped Milacic multiple times. Milacic was a late sub after Charr’s original opponent Jean Pierre Augustin was arrested at the airport when trying to catch a plane for Germany. WBO #13 heavyweight Ali Eren Demirezen (16-1, 12 KOs), coming off his TKO over Gerald Washington on a January 1 PPV, topped 42-year-old former world title challenger Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (35-19-1, 19 KOs) via eight round unanimous decision. Heavyweight Christian Hammer (27-9, 17 KOs) knocked out journeyman Drazan Janjanin (22-35, 19 KOs) in the first round. Heavyweight Michael Wallisch (23-5, 16 KOs) stopped Toni Thes (19-12-1, 13 KOs) in round two. RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 05-31-2022 H. Fury-Hunter collide in eliminator July 2 Heavyweight title contenders Hughie Fury (26-3, 15 KOs) and Michael “The Bounty” Hunter (20-1-2, 14 KOs) will face off in a final WBA world title eliminator on July 2nd at the AO Arena in Manchester, England, live and exclusively on Sky Sports, with the winner securing a shot at the WBA world title. The WBA has ordered that the winner of Fury-Hunter will go on to challenge the winner of the upcoming June 11 WBA heavyweight title fight between defending world champion Trevor Bryan and British contender Daniel Dubois. Huey Fury: “I take the fights everyone avoids. Michael Hunter has fought the best and is up there with the best. These are the fights I want, to show who is the best fighter out there. I’m looking forward to this challenge. I believe I’m one of the best fighters in the world and this is another big fight to prove I stand with the top three in the world heavyweight division.” RE: Heavyweight Division - bart - 05-31-2022 I'd watch it-decent middle of the road even clash. Hughie needs the W badly- has lost to good opposition when he steps up but had hopefully learnt lessons Hunter - career is at stalled stage - was a year or 2 talked about as a decent threat then went awol and last fight was terrible- looks unmotivated |
