Big Baby Miller banned for two years

Unbeaten heavyweight contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller was suspended for two years for the use of performance-enhancing substances. Miller, who famously torpedoed a title shot against Anthony Joshua last year by using banned substances, was nabbed again in July before his comeback fight. The Nevada State Athletic Commission unanimously voted to suspend Miller for two years. Big Baby (23-0-1, 20 KOs) is currently 32 years of age and will be out of action until 2022 unless he fights outside the U.S.

Huni victorious, takes aim at Browne, Leapai

By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing

Australian heavyweight champion Justis Huni (2-0, 2 KOs) stopped Arsene Fosso (3-1, 3 KOs) in round four of a nationally televised bout to defend the title successfully in Brisbane on Thursday. Huni controlled the contest from the opening bell connecting with accurate combinations consistently. Referee Phil Austin called the fight off in round four at 1:07 with Fosso in trouble.

Huni has signed to defend the Australian title against former WBA heavyweight champion Lucas Browne and former world heavyweight challenger Alex Leapai in 2021. The 21-year-old Huni was a bronze medalist in the 2019 world amateur championships.

In other action, middleweight Isaac Hardman (8-0, 6 KOs) outscored Tej Pratap Singh (16-5-3, 8 KOs) by majority decision over ten rounds to capture the IBF Pan Pacific and WBO Oriental titles. Scores 98-92, 97-93, 96-96.

Usyk to part ways with K2 Promotions?

By Gabriel F. Cordero

Formerly undisputed world cruiserweight champion Alexander Usyk has posted statements on the YouTube channel USYK17 expressing that he doesn’t want to renew his contract with K2 Promotions, with whom he has been with since November 2013. “I want to be my own promoter,” proclaimed Usyk. “I want to do it my way and try to negotiate a deal with K2 Promotions and move on to USYK17 Promotions.”

That's the game they play... plenty of people overseas would have said the same thing about Parker when he was first ranked for beating has and never beens

RE: Heavyweight Division - justafan - 12-08-2020

Also, it's hard to get interested about anything WBA these days apart from a couple of divisions
