RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 07-04-2015 Sham, I honestly don't want to talk about your being breast fed. The image is not nice in my head. We're meeting in the middle, Sham. You think AJ has the goods to go all the way. I think you want the best for Parker, no matter how far he goes. Me too. Classroom? What do ya' mean? Am I taking you to school, again? Lesson: What's the difference between I told you so and I thought so? RE: Heavyweight Division - shamrock - 07-05-2015 Well Die, I thought so, means you say it to yourself RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 07-05-2015 In Catholicism, isn't the thought as good as the deed? RE: Heavyweight Division - gothenaki - 07-05-2015 AJ now talking about fighting Scottish lummox Gary Cornish "the Cornish pastie". Huge step down from Wach. Must have thought it was too soon.. http://www.boxingscene.com/anthony-joshua-cornish-perfect-set-up-whyte-bout--93107 RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 07-07-2015 Wladimir Klitschko-Tyson Fury is on, and it could prove to be to Klitschko’s toughest test in a while! By James Slater | July 6, 2015 | 50 Comments As fight fans ave surely read by now, it has been announced by a number of sources how heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko will defend his belts against unbeaten Tyson Fury, the WBO heavyweight mandatory challenger, on October 24th in Germany. The two sides today came together and, at the last minute avoiding the need for purse bids, the fight was made. Dusseldorf will host the big fight and both giants are confident of victory. Britain’s Fury, who has been calling for a shot at Klitschko for some time, took to his oft-used Twitter account just minutes ago: “Viva Deutschland, I’m coming to rock your country in October be there or miss the best fight in heavyweight history, #letsgetthispartystarted,” Fury wrote. Meanwhile, Peter Fury, Tyson’s uncle and trainer thanked Hennessey promotions and Tom Loefler for making the fight a reality. Tyson had the last word, though: “10000000000-% @Klitschko is getting smashed,” Fury wrote. Not that it needs pointing out, but the hype/build-up/press conference(s) and weigh-in for this fight will surely be something. Fury, despite what his critics may say about him, has unlimited assurance and self-belief. He may live to regret it, but Fury does not fear Klitschko. And Wladimir, as great as he is, will be going up against someone as tall as him (or even taller actually) who also has a useful jab, the ability to turn southpaw and box effectively there, and with that huge heart. And at age 39, some fans might just be beginning to suggest that Father Time could have a shot at catching up with the future Hall of Famer. Of course, this is THE acid test for Fury – whose biggest wins have come against Steve Cunningham ( a cruiserweight who dropped him heavily and was stopped controversially) and Dereck Chisora (who some believe was “shot” or darn close to it in his return meeting with “The Gypsy King.”) Has Fury got what it takes to topple as proficient a fighter as Wladimir? Lots of fans are in agreement on one thing: it’s going to be fun finding out. This fight has a can’t-miss look about it. Oh, and the pre-fight drama we are sure to witness (from Fury, anyway; Wlad has always been cool as ice) will be fun too! RE: Heavyweight Division - gothenaki - 07-07-2015 Fury really should have fought some big guys in preparation. Dominant but very boring wins over Hammer and Chisora, who were too short for him, will do nothing to help him against Klit RE: Heavyweight Division - justafan - 07-07-2015 I know it would be a dumb move to give away home advantage but I honestly thought this fight may happen in England as the money would be huge but I guess the ppv would be a big money spinner anyway. I don't actually see fury being much of a threat but I guess he is better than many others Klit has fought of late so who knows??? RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 07-08-2015 Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko to fight unbeaten challenger Tyson Fury Promoters say unbeaten British boxer Tyson Fury will challenge Wladimir Klitschko for his world heavyweight titles in a bout in Germany in October. The 39-year-old Klitschko is the WBA, IBF and WBO champion and the encounter will be a record 28th heavyweight title bout for him. Fury's promoters, Hennessy Sports, said the fight would take place in Duesseldorf on October 24. The 26-year-old Briton is undefeated in 24 fights after defending his European title against Christian Hammer in London in March. He is the mandatory challenger to Ukrainian boxer Klitschko, who has not lost a match in 11 years. Klitschko last fought in April, defeating Bryant Jennings over 12 rounds at Madison Square Garden in New York. "Done deal... we reached an agreement with the Fury camp," Klitschko wrote on his official Twitter account. "Looking forward to the fight on Oct. 24." sport headlines Live: All Blacks triumph video Burns locked in at FC Tokyo Sky Go users up in arms at outage Klitschko agrees to fight Fury in Germany Kiwi pair past half-century mark Smith 'must overcome McKinnon criticism' Nascar crash survivor 'feels like Superman' gallery video Apia's 'big game' party begins video All Whites coach preaches fair play All Blacks vs Samoa test match stats Larsen new Black Caps selector History stacked against Samoa Reason: Jimmy's my hero Cunliffe-Steel eyes big future after silver Muguruza finds groove on grass Ad Feedback Most popular RE: Heavyweight Division - mippy - 07-08-2015 Does anyone give Fury much of a chance? I see another relatively easy night for Wlad RE: Heavyweight Division - diehard - 07-08-2015 No probs for Klit. Except it'll be good to see him fight someone his own size with some power. Klit in 2 in an explosive fight. |
