Some great fights on this card. https://boxrec.com/en/event/790370
You would think they would have it on in NZ as there are some great potential matchups that could be made with NZ boxers in the future but I'm just off the phone to Foxtel and it appears there is no way to watch this card in NZ. Was happy to pay too!

The majority on here seem to like to post about the fat boys on peds who avoid eachother, this thread is about whats happening or could happen in New Zealand boxing. So this week's news. Andrei Mikhailovich unanimously outpointed Gunnar Jackson over 10 rounds in Cambridge on Saturday night. Jackson has now officially retired, ending with a record of 29-13-4.
In other news Cairo George stopped another opponent with inferior boxing experience in the first round of another pointless bout at the ABA, Auckland.
Reece Papuni, who hasn't fought for going on 3 years has signed to fight Blake Caperelo in Melbourne this coming Friday - big ask.
Lance Bryant has signed to fight unbeaten Aussie Jason Whately in Australia in October.

How can we call this a boxing forum when nobody has mentioned the death of one of the greatest boxers to ever step in the ring? an outstanding defensive boxer and tremendous counter puncher.
His record is deceiving, he was robbed against Jose Luiz Ramirez, given a draw against Julio Ceser chavez (he boxed circles around Chavez) and controversially lost a decision to Oscar De La Hoya.
Fights Id recommend
Azumah Nelson
James McGirt
Julio Ceser Chavez
Oscar De La Hoya
anyway sad to see him go so young but theres plenty of footage left behind to admire his genius and trendsetting ringcraft

Thurman: My prediction? Less than six rounds
Undefeated WBA Welterweight World Champion Keith “One Time” Thurman hosted media at the St. Pete Boxing Club in Florida Wednesday as he showed off his skills in advance of his Saturday, July 20 showdown against eight-division world boxing champion Senator Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao headlining a FOX Sports pay-per-view event from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Keith Thurman: “I bet none of Pacquiao’s sparring partners were going at his body. Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman is going to touch the body. I want to know how he reacts…my prediction? Less than six rounds. I would love to be 30-0 with 23 knockouts. We’ve got 22 and we’ve held those 22 knockouts for a little too long. It’s time to get one more knockout.
“The time is now. I can’t be the underdog because I am the undefeated champion of the world. He’s the legend, but I have 10 years of youth on my side. However, we’ve seen world champions and legends do tremendous things at later dates. For example, Bernard Hopkins won the world title at 45 years old. Is Manny Pacquiao that kind of world champion? Keith Thurman will be the first one to find out.”

the Monty Betham vs Shane Cameron bout |

what was the deal with this fight? 6 2 minute rounds, heavyweight gloves, it was a big step up for Monty and a no win fight for Shane.
Was their legitimate bad blood between the pair? or did Montys antics on the night rile Shane up? because in the late rounds he unleashed some brutal body shots and really looked he was trying to badly hurt Monty
In the end though Monty survived and Shane won a decision yet seemed to take nothing of value away from the fight
What do you guys remember about this farce?
heres highlights

The SBWvsTillman and Botha fights |

They have to be the two most obvious fixed bouts Ive ever seen. I know Clarence isnt a great boxer but rewatching that bout and especially the stoppage it looked like WWE in there
The Botha fight was just surreal, first of all the bout is shortened as SBW is on the verge of being ktfo, I dont care what they say that was a scheduled 12 rounder. It was also plain to see if Frans wanted to he could have taken SOnny out at any point, Williams was hands down, chin out all night long and clearly lacked knock out power
what do you guys remember about those fights? If Sonny ever fights Gallen he gets stretched
