A couple of things guys ... Yes the Brook vs Vargas fight is locked in and Brook beats 10 shades of shit out of him.

At no point did I mention Jeff was on leave from teaching. Jeff is a full time professional boxer and has been since he signed on with Duco .. Jeff got married and had planned an extended break giving his team plenty of notice in advance that the vacation was to fall May June of this year. The plan was to have Jeff fight in Feb and again in May .. this of course was screwed up with an injury resulting from sparring in prep for his scheduled first fight for the year. He will be back in action in September against a rated credible opponent. We are going through the motions now - WBC # 4 Manyuchi & IBF # 10 and a couple of others have all rejected good offers - I am in negotiations with 2 right now so we will make some sort of announcement in the coming weeks.
That was my bad Stu. Articles still come as early as last month saying he's a teacher. http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/boxing-mma/gloved-up-teacher-jeff-horn-busy-doing-his-homework-on-the-men-between-him-and-a-world-title-bout/news-story/fbac91d7bb19634baa4d30ef32c958f2

Thanks for the update. Fantastic that he will continue to fight quality opposition.

Your welcome .. I have just had the contract signed for Jeffs September fight ... will be a great fight - his opponent is world rated - had more fights - younger & undefeated ... will make for a great scrap as the opponent is an engaging boxer mover .. Duco no doubt will make an announcement in the coming weeks .. This will be the 7th top 15 rated opponent Jeff has faced and second undefeated opponent in his career to date.
Horn vs the welterweight version of Arnold gjzejiz coming up then
If Horn keeps winning he's in the mix with the big boys, some mouth watering fights out there.
Going by Stu's clues, could it be WBA #13 Paul Kamanga - http://boxrec.com/boxer/617932

Also is it on the Parker undercard or in Aus?
Good detective work! Kamanga has never fought outside South Africa, but he has fought some guys not from there with good records. Don't know where he'll be fighting. Parker is fighting in September, but Duco also mentioned the next few fights would be in OZ. So not sure. I'd guess on the Parker undercard. Good match-up Stu. Young, ranked, undefeated.
Cheers Die, can't imagine he would be too expensive either but will have to wait and see I guess

ANTHONY MUNDINE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE A PAY CUT TO FIGHT BRISBANE'S RISING STAR JEFF HORN.

ANTHONY Mundine has been told to get in the queue as he chases a million-dollar payday against boom Brisbane boxer Jeff Horn.

While a Mundine-Danny Green rematch has been brewing since Mundine won their first fight 10 years ago, a battle with Horn could be the biggest fight ever staged in Brisbane.

Duco Events, the promoters of the Brisbane schoolteacher, last year touted a million-dollar purse for Mundine to face the London Olympian.

On the weekend a representative for Mundine contacted contact Horn’s camp to discuss a potential showdown but was told Mundine’s bargaining power had been severely devalued after he was brutally stopped in his last fight against American Charles Hatley in November.

The Horn camp now see more value in chasing the world welterweight (67kg) title following his seventh-round stoppage of former three-time world champ Randall Bailey in Brisbane on April 27.

Horn is ranked the No. 4 contender for the WBO and IBF titles and with heavyweight Lucas Browne’s career stalled, the Brisbane boxer is now the highest ranked Australian fighter.

Horn’s trainer/manager Glenn Rushton said a Mundine fight was still an enticing proposition but would need time to percolate.

“Duco made the million-dollar offer last year but they now say Anthony is not worth a million dollars,’’ Rushton said.

“We are still interested in fighting him if it could be built up into a big grudge fight like the Mundine-Green bout.

“Mundine-Jeff Horn would be a fight purely for Jeff to make a good payday and we are very confident we could beat Anthony. But right now our focus is on winning a world championship.’’

Horn returned to training at Rushton’s Stretton mansion on Monday night after a six-week holiday in America with his wife Jo.

He recently rejected a world title shot against England’s WBO junior-middleweight (70kg) champ Liam Smith and a world welterweight title eliminator against Texan tornado Errol Spence because he did not have enough time to prepare.

“We’re in this business to win a world title,’’ Rushton said.

“Not just fight for one. The Brits gave us just a couple of weeks’ notice for the fight in London and the timing just wasn’t right. We’re looking at Spence down the track but not right now and we’re pretty sure when we fight him there will be a world title on the line.’’

Spence is set to face Italian Leonard Bundu on August 21 for the right to challenge England’s IBF welterweight king Kell Brook.

Bundu beat Aussie Daniel Geale at the 2000 Olympics and has since held the European championship.
