Stu said that Horn did turn down the fight, as he had a planned holiday in the US and wouldn't have time to train. He IS a teacher, and this is their summer vacation period.

Regardless, i want him to target Vargas, not Spence.
Here's Stu's explanation on facebook:

Stuart Duncan Yes we were approached but rejected the fight for a number of reasons with the primary reason being Jeff is still on a 6 week break in the USA - Spence is one of the hardest fights out there and if Jeff was to face him he would need a 10 - 12 week camp to prepare properly. We dont want Jeff to get a world title shot - we want him to win a world title .. fighting Spence underdone would be a bad move in his teams opinion. Spence has a whole lot more experience than Jeff and we feel Jeff is 4 or 5 fights away from taking him on at this stage. There are many routes to a world title shot in this day and age - Jeff will have a few more fights polishing his skills and getting a few more rounds under his belt .. if the right opportunity beckons we will seize it .. for now we bide our time.

Vargas is certainly the easiest belt. Unfortunately he won't have it for long as he is fighting Kell Brook in Sheffield next in a unification

That's a change up from Lonermouth telling everyone that would listen that Horn was a full time boxer because of and thanks to Duco...
Lonergan caught out on his bullshit. Hah!

Right now I'd pick Brook, especially in England. But in a year or so I reckon Spence will rule the division. You?
Can't remember ever seeing Brook fight. Have seen Spence, and based on that, I'm going with Spence.

Is this signed and sealed? Great fight for Brook if it happens.

Yup, in September. Hearn is just waiting on tv availability and stadium availability before announcing, probably next week
