This sort of thinking confuses me.
Why are we happy for Joe to take easy fights and avoid any danger?
He's had his year with the belt, he's faced ok-ish opponents but it's time to either step up or simply he should drop the belt to someone who will look to unify.
Joshua has fought Klitshcko, Wilder at least signed to fight povetkin and ortiz.
Joes best opponent was hughie fury and now apparently he needs a nice few easy fights for a while while all the dangerous fighters are supposed to take care of each other.
Personally i want to see joe tested at the top end and i want to see it sooner rather than later. I don't care about how much money he is or isn't making as i'm not seeing any of it and i don't want to see him vs christian hamer for only $49.99 on sky arena

Chief among the concerns for Joseph Parker's handlers securing an opponent for his next fight will be making their man look good.
Parker's recent WBO defence against Hughie Fury in Manchester was the third time in three fights he has gone 12 rounds.
The worry for the Kiwi is he has reached a plateau rather than continued on a constant plane of improvement compared with his IBF, WBA and IBO world champion rival Anthony Joshua, so the importance in getting the selection of Parker's next opponent right cannot be overstated.
A stoppage after a dominant performance is beginning to be a necessity for Parker as he strives for parity on the world stage with Joshua and WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
It's one thing being underrated as a champion, and therefore a man everyone wants to fight, and quite another being an all-action knockout merchant building a global following. It's about money - the bigger the profile, the bigger the payday.
Some of the names putting their hands up would be a good fit for Parker as he seeks to go to a new level in terms of his performance.
A bout against Japanese heavyweight Kyotaro Fujimoto at, say, the Tokyo Dome would be a good one for Parker. Fujimoto is a 31-year-old with a 17-1 professional record ranked ninth by the WBO and 14th by the WBC. His loss came against Solomon Haumono, the Australian whom Parker walked through in four rounds, which suggests a relatively easy night's work would be in store for the Kiwi.
Would it be a significant victory for Parker? Probably not for his wider development, but it would be a good payday and a step in the right direction in terms of stoppages.
Australian Lucas Browne would also appear a good fit, as would Dillian Whyte from England, although a low-ball offer from his promoter Eddie Hearn and the fact that Whyte could be set to fight American Dominic Breazeale next month would appear to rule that one out in the near future.
Parker is keen to fight again between November and the New Year.
Both men would stand in front of Parker and engage - something Fury refused to do, which contributed to an ordinary bout at the Manchester Arena last month.
A potential fight against Russian Alexander Povetkin would set off alarm bells.
Povetkin is a genuine heavyweight force, a man who has lost only once in 33 professional fights (by decision to Wladimir Klitschko), a man, too, who knocked out Carlos Takam, a division gatekeeper whom Parker could beat only by decision.
A fight in Moscow would present its own challenges and risks.
It would be foolish to read too much into the recent comments by Hearn, Joshua's promoter and also the man behind Whyte and Tony Bellew, when he told Seconds Out Boxing: "Now people think Joshua against Parker is a mismatch. I don't necessarily agree with that.
"Stylistically, it's a good fight, and he's got a belt. But he's very difficult to promote [in the UK]."
Hearn clearly has his own agenda.
Parker is a drawcard for as long as he retains his WBO title, but with Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller beginning to look formidable in the United States and Daniel Dubois looking powerful and explosive in the United Kingdom as he begins his professional career, it's time for the Kiwi to look dominant in the ring again.
As I said, Parker will be forced to fight Christian Hammer next year because he becomes the WBO Mandatory.
As I say, stay clear of AJ and Wilder and he'll do fine.

Exactly, kiwi. I thought he was there, even after the Ruiz fight. Sure, he'd go straight back instead of circling, and would stick around too long after his combinations, but I thought he'd just need some tweaking...not now. He's lost power, lunges, poor footwork, not quite as fast, etc. I'm optimistic he can get back to where he was, or even get better so that he can be competitive with AJ or Wilder, but there's a lot of work to be done. If not KB, somebody needs to re-reinvent him.

With the IBF and WBA belts, Britain's Anthony Joshua is the man to beta in the heavyweight division.

Joshua's suave promoter Eddie Hearn laid out his ideal plans for 2018, provided his man can come through his defence of the IBF and WBA belts against brutish Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev in Cardiff on October 28.
Hearn felt Wilder, the big-hitting WBC champion, held more appeal than Parker, the undefeated WBO champion who is yet to win over British audiences on the back of his recent ugly defence against Hughie Fury in Manchester.
Joseph Parker still has his WBO belt and that gives him and his his promoter David Higgins plenty of bargaining power.
"I think that's going to be the big fight," Hearn told Boxing News of Joshua stepping in the ring with American Wilder.
"Joshua wants all the belts. So you've got the Parker fight as well. Obviously Parker didn't look the best last time out. It's a tougher fight to sell now. But it's still a unification fight.
Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn says unification is the main aim of his fighter.
"The fight I look for Parker is either Joshua in February/March or Tony Bellew, if he beats David Haye. That's the two fights we've got. Or Dillian Whyte. But he (Parker) doesn't want to fight Dillian Whyte."
It's understood Parker's backers at Duco Events believe the money offered to fight Whyte didn't stack up.
But they are unlikely to rush into an early unification fight with Joshua either.
They would rather see Parker build his profile with a further fight in Britain ahead of that, knowing that the WBO belt gives them plenty of bargaining power.
Ideally that will come against the winner of the Haye v Bellew rematch to be fought in London in December.
Both are dangerous options, fighters who like to stand and trade. But that suits Parker's style rather than the elusive game Fury employed to frustrate the Kiwi. And both Haye and Bellew are pumped up cruiserweights with Parker backing his superior size and tested chin to survive the challenge of either.
That fight would represent a superior pay day to Whyte and if Parker came through that, it would ratchet up his UK value and potential earnings from a clash with Joshua.
Duco Events would like to see Joshua unification fight in the middle of next year.
In the meantime, Parker's promoter David Higgins continues to work through options for a December bout to keep his fighter busy.
Higgins has several options in front of him and is weighing them up against each other to find the best fight in terms of money, appeal and moving Parker forward.
Higgins hopes to be able to unveil the opponent next week.
After three successive points decisions, they need to come up with a credible fighter Parker can bowl over to regain his knockout menace.
Parker finally has a voluntary defence and can choose his opponent.
Japanese heavyweight Kyotaro Fujimoto, the WBO No 8, has genuine appeal.
China's Zhilei Zhang, the WBO No 12, is also an option in the lucrative Asian market.
Russian Alexander Povetkin's handlers have reportedly been sounding out the Parker camp though those talks may have gone cold.
Rugged Australian Lucas Browne would guarantee trans-Tasman rivalry although he might not be available before the end of the year.
Higgins has the wise shoulder of veteran American promoter Bob Arum to lean on for options in the United States while Arum also holds keys to the Asian market.

Boxing promoter David Higgins has defended his heavyweight star Joseph Parker against mounting criticism in Great Britain.
Joseph Parker promoter David Higgins says he won't be "low-balled" by rival Eddie Hearn and has hit back at the credentials of the Brit's heavyweight stable of Anthony Joshua and Tony Bellew.
Hearn has repeatedly questioned Parker's marketability in the United Kingdom after the Kiwi's difficult WBO world title defence against Hughie Fury in Manchester late last month.
Eager to have his IBF and WBA champion Joshua fight a unification bout with Parker, or have Bellew take on the Kiwi, Hearn sees Parker as a hard sell right now.
British promoter Eddie Hearn has a cash machine in IBF and WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Hearn believes people see Parker against Joshua as a mismatch and feels even the value of a Parker v Bellew fight has "diminished" on the back of the Kiwi's performance against Fury which was his third victory in a row without a knockout finish.
The brash Bellew, who has a lucrative rematch against David Haye in December, believes he could "beat Joseph Parker in my sleep".
Higgins is furious at the criticism of his man, feeling it is unwarranted and has basically told Hearn to put up or shut up. Higgins turned the tables on Hearn who he believes is trying to cut his costs over any potential tangles with Parker.
"It's become apparent that Eddie and his two bigger named boxers are all levelling various criticisms at Joseph Parker ... the boxers suggesting he is beatable and Eddie talking down the fight a bit, probably wanting to pay less," Higgins told Stuff on Thursday.
"We aren't going to have Eddie Hearn low-ball us because we are from New Zealand or because he didn't like the Hughie Fury fight."
Parker has one of the four genuine belts and that is marketable in itself. Joshua defends his belts against Kubrat Pulev in Cardiff later this month with the fight at Millennium Stadium almost sold out despite the big Bulgarian having an inferior record to Parker and bringing no hardware to the table.
Higgins believes Parker deserves more respect and backs his man against Hearn's fighters.
"I think everyone should step back, take the emotion out of it and look at the facts," Higgins said.
"The facts are that boxers in Joseph's resume like Andy Ruiz and Carlos Takam are avoided and are arguably better than many of the boxers on Joshua's resume, Wladimir Klitschko excepted.
"Joshua has been laid out on his back more than once. Dillian Whyte shook him up, Klitschko put him down and there are rumours around incidents in sparring that I wouldn't speculate on.
"Joseph has never been put on his back in fighting or sparring. In boxing parlance, it means that he has got a good chin."
Higgins is adamant Joshua's confrontational approach would suit Parker far better than Fury's hit and run tactics.
"Joshua's style is more square-up, come forward, so the question for Eddie Hearn is, if Joseph Parker and Anthony Joshua stand in front of each other trading, who is more likely to go down? Based on the facts it looks like that might be Joshua.
"Look, it could go either way and Eddie Hearn will know that ... it's the heavyweight division and any heavyweight can knock out an opponent with the perfect punch.
"So that's why we are quite excited about the Joshua possibility. But it's it a fight we would only take if the deal was right. We won't be low-balled."
Higgins believed some perspective needed to be put on the recent majority points win over Fury.
"The reality is Hughie Fury is incredibly awkward. His own father said to us after the fight that people just don't understand how awkward Hughie can be," Higgins said.
"Hughie backed off the whole fight and was in there to survive. So it has caused a lot of British writers to underestimate Joseph."
Higgins felt Bellew was underestimating Parker too and questioned the mouthy Brit's own credentials.
"As for Bellew, I don't really take him seriously. He beat a lame, injured David Haye and didn't look that convincing. It's laughable for Bellew to talk down Parker," Higgins said.
"I think fighting Bellew could be a big money fight. It's a fight we would be very comfortable with.
"And so either one of them, we are not worried about. It's just if Eddie Hearn puts a respectable offer on the table."
A fight against Bellew or Haye looms as a possibility in the first quarter of next year, leading into a mid-year fight against Joshua.
In the meantime, Higgins is working on finalising a December opponent for Parker, looking to keep him active.
He hopes to have that sorted out next week.
