I don't think you should bring up the amateurs when comparing Parker to Joshua in anyway.

Why? I'm comparing Parker's chin to AJ's. A punch is a punch, amateurs or professional.

To me Joshua's floors are that he seems too over confident sometimes and is a little squarish in style. Parker has too many to mention but is still learning.

I think that there opposition was a little different in the ams. Parker struggled in Australasia.

Like in any sport, you do your homework on your competition. KB has done his homework on Joshua, and has spoken to people who have witnessed sparring sessions and training camps.

As Msreef says, it is known AJ has been knocked silly in these sessions, and speculation of his suspect chin is rife in these boxing circles.

But its only speculation.... we have seen him stumble in the Whyte fight, yes.... but he proved he could roll with it and came back very well.

These been a couple of great champions I can think of that have a had a suspect chin.... Lennox Lewis, Thomas Hearns... and Im sure there's plenty more?

Parker had huge success during his amateur career being two time New Zealand Amateur Heavyweight Champion in 2010 and 2011 as well as being able to win several amateur tournaments and score a couple of notable wins on the international circuit. He won silver at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and 2010 Commonwealth Boxing Championships while also winning bronze at the 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. Joseph also won gold at the Arafura Games, the China Open as well as the 50th Winner Tournament in Belgrade where he beat 2012 Olympians Erik Pfeifer and Johan Linde. He was awarded the New Zealand Pacific Junior sportsman of the year while still in the amateur ranks in 2011.

All this at such a young age is pretty impressive if you ask me.

He didn't qualify for any major tournaments, getting beat in Australasian qualifying.

Put $500 on Parker? Not me, not at this stage because I think AJ might annihilate him. Money up or shut automatically kills parochial bias. It would be quite unpragmatic to bet on Jo beating AJ at this stage but reasonably safe to wager the other way in the manner of logistics.

JP could have been a great amateur.... turned Pro too early in my opinion.

However, turning pro and hooking up with Duco (KB in particular) has made him get serious about his potential.

As mentioned earlier, a few loses in his career won't be a bad thing. He will learn alot from these.

Big call saying Lewis had a suspect chin, great punches from Mccall and rahman. Hearns later on in his career but the likes of Duran and Hagler would of kod anyone in history.
