We'd all have a good laugh at Lonegan, i cant see Eddie giving Haumano a title shot and Parker woyuld have to jump in with a another serious contender again to get back on track (after he rights the wrong against Haumano).

If Jo say's his elbow's flared up prior to the fight, why would anyone think this didn't happen? However, I don' think Jo is blaming that on his performance. He was over-cooked and that was blatantly obvious. He struggled with Takam's ability to counter, and really didn't know what to do with his head other than pop it up and pull it right back. A fundamental flaw inexperienced fighters go through. And when I say inexperienced fighters, I'm referring to Jo at that level.

Long training camps aren't unfamiliar to most boxers, but its about finding a balance, and they are still trying find that with JP. He is now at a different level and training camps become a real focus leading up to fighting top 10 opponents.

Remember, training camps are a little bit more than just training in a gym, a lot has to be managed and diagnosed leading up to a top level fight like he is about see more of. Managing a fighters mental capacities is key to keeping him focussed and ready to go.

There's a fine line between being at your peak, and being overcooked!!

People don't believe he had an elbow injury because a lot of people want to bring him down. He hurt his elbow in training prior to the Samoa fight. He beats a top level, top 5 guy and people still rubbish him. Sure he has his flaws, said he did, and wants to improve. As I said before, he fought a guy that's better than anyone AJ or Wilder, two champs, have fought. And he beat them without his best performance.

Saw a feature of him on "Story" last nite at 7PM. He says it really hurts his family, and him, when people get on Facebook and say he's a bad boxer. I don't think any of us would like to be told in public that we are rubbish at what we do.

From the previous posts, it seems that much of the anger and hate is about Lonergan hyping him. Blame Lonergan.
Takam is 6'2" and a half. At the weigh-in, Joe was in socks and Takam had his shoes on. Parker is as tall as Izu now, who is 6'5".
Why are my posts getting deleted?

Is it against the rules to question anything about Parker now?
Your posts were never deleted. I wouldn't do that unless I told you first. I haven't deleted a post in 6 months, except for the live streaming post for the Parker fight. Your post could possibly be on another thread?

You can question Parker all you want. It's actually welcomed.

All boxers make excuses though

Here's one of them.
OMG die boo hoo, it's the fight game damnit, harden up! But yes, I do think JP came into that fight over trained and he still won. Elbows are a problem with most fighters I know. What about Takam? Nobody asked, did he have a sore shoulder or was he over trained. ..nobody cares. He can go home..

Fai, you know I love David uce, but, he could not emulate the great Mike Tyson mate, despite being similar in height etc...why? because he was never taught it mate in his amateur learning period. Sorry mate but thems the facts. David was great but could have gone much further with a bit more head and foot movement. Too early to talk about Jo overshadowing David, there's a lot more to play yet if KB is able to bring adjustments. But there is so much more to coaching than just teaching the fundamentals. I hope they can face the challenges..
sham what are you doing these days mate? behaving yourself? die said you're a bit of a womanizer is that right?

if he was over-trained, isn't that kb's fault. parker does everything that's asked of him....but the ones calling the shots are the ones responsible for making sure he's at the peak mentally and physically. they are not doing that. watching him smile at a the crowd on his ring walk was a problem to me. he should be taught better.

i wouldn't believe anything lonergan said even if his tongue was notarized. they should muzzle him.
It's just that KB has been with JP for over three years, and should know how to get the best out of him by now.  And he should definitely know how long to have a training camp.  He knew that Parker had a previous elbow injury, and he also knew that 8 weeks was the right time for a camp with Tua.  Sure, fighters need more or less, but he should have known.  Parker said the elbow started hurting after the 9th week.  Think KB thought more was better, given the seriousness of the fight.

True, Sham.  No one cares about Takam.  This was his last hurrah at his age.  Feel for him.  Would have been great to get some post fight quotes or interviews from him.  If he had not taking parts of rounds off, been more active, he mighta won.
12 weeks are only needed for guys like fury where the first 4 weeks is purely conditioning stuff

Parker enters camp in pretty good shape so 8 weeks is plenty
