Takam was going to be a possibility in July as an eliminator, with a step up top 25 fighter in April. I think Stu has his opponent in April, just waiting for Duco to announce it. No way Takam in April in CC.

As I said before, no way Martin, or any top ten fighter fights Parker in NZ. Too expensive.
Personally I do feel parker is overrated, he's a good prospect but I don't feel he's exceptional in any way.

The thing is most of the parker fans are just that, Parker fans. Not boxing fans. A good friend of mine told me parker was the best prospect since Tyson. And he didn't even know that klitscho and fury were fighting, or who fury was. The last fight he watched before a Parker fight was probably sbw.

But we've had to live through this with Cameron, then the tua comeback. I was one of few who was saying if tua had anything left he'd blast a fighter as basic as Shane out early, then after he did all the former Cameron fans were saying tua would destroy David haye.

If you ask one of these guys about parker vs Joshua they will say parker will ko him, them if you ask tactics, they don't have an answer basically they say that parker will ko him in a slugfest. So you are like "OK so he's going to stand at midrange and trade punches with probably the hardest puncher in the division" and they just look confused

The thing is if parker loses these people won't watch anymore boxing, they are in it purely to support parker and for national pride, maybe its not a bad thing, but at some point because of them I'm going to clean up at the tab when Joe fights a world level opponent.
Rewatching the Bergman fight, I found Joseph Parker's attacks uncreative and predictable. Ie left left right then the inside work. Hes definitely prone to being timed for a cracking counter something Bergman couldnt utilise. I do believe cerebral boxers like Jennings, Ortiz, Fury, would capitalise on this. South paws like Tarver, Martin are all wrong for him. Ortiz is a nightmare. would like to see some more awkwardness in Parker's game. His movements are a bit trite and foreseeable. He should trust his power, mix it up and fight the fighter not just stick to the game plan hes been given. Need to see him in a crisis to see if he's got a plan b.

Robotic was the word, pre-programmed and sent out by barry. When bergman made things a bit awkward the 1-2's weren't getting the job done, parker was looking at his corner in confusion. Bergman was a bit of a spoiler that's granted but it took way too long to get rid of him. There are certain opponents where it pays to be cautious, against Bergman parker could afford to, and needed to, step over his front foot and fire off combinations.
The only top 25, expedient guys I see next for Parker would be Fedosov or Tarver (both above Parker in WBA) and visa versa he's a good scalp for those two, rankingwise - especially Fed. I'd be nervous if it was Tarver. Fedosov is winnable I guess. Ustinov in talks with Hughie, Hammer fighting march. Malik Scott's an outside chance I guess - he's travelled downunder before and probably fancies himself. Id back Parker against the chinny Scott and the technical challenge would be of value to Joe. Perez, Brezeale(risky) round out the rest of viable/availabe top 25 guys.
Adamek gives Jo hell even now I reckon, though hes fighting Molina in april.

Yep. Pre programming iis dangerous. I'm no boxer, but I gather a good balance of tactics and intuition is a must. Being flexible in fight is probably important in high calibre bouts, and as you say looking at Barry halfway through isnt a great sign. Maybe he does it because Barry' shouting at him and micromanaging him during the fight. Like being polite and showing 'yeah Im listening'. Hopefully he doesnt get into the habit of just putting combinations in because 'thats what they learnt' if its not working, hes the one in the ring who has to take the onus and be creative, not an obsequious naive kid

Yeah, one of the things about Tyson Fury that makes him so effective is that he thinks on the fly and adapts to what's in front of him. Steve Cunningham was giving him all sorts of problems with movement and speed, so Fury simply switched up to use his size, leaned on him and fought dirty. he's not pretty but it is effective, and we saw in the Klitschko fight how a guy who is robotic and tries to fight a textbook perfect style came undone against unpredictability. I think joe is a natural fighter, Barry needs to let him get his hands dirty if need be

Yeah, one reason Im not sure of the Parker/barry chemistry. As a ground roots teacher hes great im sure. but he seems to be pretty stubborn and pigheaded with his 'knows best' approach. Just not sure if the basics works later on when you come up against real livewires. I would love parker to get in with a John david Jackson type, where it seems a bit more a team environment as opposed to 'do as i say' approach. Barry comes off a bit obsessive and un open to his fighter's - who knows though
Would someone give Dean Lonergan a bell and find out Parker's next fight?
Well, that's the problem. Parker needs to learn the basics, especially against lefties. Which makes him robotic. He's still developing the fundamentals and learning his craft while being micro-managed by KB. If he uses his natural instincts, without the fundamentals, he won't go far. If he uses just the fundamentals and not his natural instincts, he's robotic, and like you say, will get countered. He needs to put it all together, and as KB says, he's still in his infancy.
