Great fight for Sam to take, should be a nice payday too.
Good fight for Sam. Ryan Ford is undefeated, but really hasn't fought anyone. Did fight once in Singapore. I used to work quite regularly in Singapore. Great food.

Kiwi kickboxer Israel Adesanya books date for world middleweight title

Israel Adesanya is fighting Glory middleweight champion Jason Wilnis in January.

New Zealand kickboxer Israel Adesanya will fight for the Glory middleweight title in Los Angeles on January 20.

The 29-year-old Auckland-based fighter will aim to dethrone champion Jason Wilnis of the Netherlands in the main event of Glory 37 after the featherweight title bout between Robin van Roosmalen and Matt Embree was moved to a different card.

Glory is the world's premier kickboxing promotion with events held across the United States, Europe and Asia, while Adesanya's bout will be broadcast live on cable sports giant ESPN in America.

'The Style Bender' (65-3) secured his shot at the title after winning the four-man contender tournament in Denver two months ago, claiming decision victories over Robert Thomas and arch-rival Yousri Belgaroui on the same night.

Wilnis (29-6-1) will be making his first defence of the belt since recording one of the biggest upsets of the year with a third-round TKO over then-middleweight champion Simon Marcus in September.
Lance Revill has resigned from a WBO-supported organisation in protest at the fallout surrounding Joseph Parker's heavyweight title win over Andy Ruiz.

Revill has been heavily criticised for his take on Parker's victory. On Sunday he was emphatic in his view that Ruiz won the fight easily, claiming the taller Mexican had been "ripped off".

When I pointed out that Parker was the taller one, Revill said "I thought Parker had a goatee?"

No, that was Ruiz, I informed him.

Now blind-as-a-bat Revill (who shouts as well) has pulled his services from the WBO-supported Professional Boxing Commission International, the organisation that put on Parker's fight at Vector Arena last Saturday.

Revill is fuming over the result of the title fight, which he claims saw Andy Ruiz "ripped off".

Revill stands by his comments that Parker should not have been awarded a majority decision win.
"Look, I may not have been able to see either of them, but I know boxing. It's embarrassing"

Two of the three foreign judges scored the fight 115-113 in his favour; the other declaring it a 114 draw.

"I'm telling you right now again 118-11Ruiz wins the fight. That's the way I saw it. Just get over it and live with it. I'm not going to change my decision. I shoot straight from the hip and I stand by my decision. I've watched the fight twice since (very blurry coverage I must say). If you don't like it lump it. I've rattled the cage of Duco.

"Look at what [Muhammad Ali's biographer Thomas] Hauser had to say."

Revill was frustrated that the NZPBA had been pushed out of organising local events by foreign officials, and also said he and Lonergan had exchanged some vicious emails.

"I've served my time as an amateur boxer. I've represented my country. I won three titles as a professional heavyweight and served as an international referee. I'm puch drunk, blind and part deaf so I can be an idiot if I want and I don't have to answer to anybody in boxing."
