I'm PUMPED for this fight and hopeful that Joe does the business. But then again I'm also a Warriors fan so I'm used to disappointment

Stuff are literal fanboys, just repirt on the inportant stuff please.

NZ media are fan boys.

what will happen if joe loses?

There is losing and there is LOSING!

If Joe puts in an epic performance, the fight of his life and loses on points - he is still the media hero.

If Joe struggles to make any impact on AJ and is easily beaten on points  - the media will herald him as second best in the world.

If Joe fights like a tiger, is in it all the way and gets knocked out - the media will acknowledge the warrior needs to take stock and plan another challenge.

If Joe is out classed, beaten to the punch, fails to make an impact,  is un-composed under pressure and is then knocked out - then the media should lead a campaign to change his management and coaching team.

It's not up to the collective media to put pressure on JP to find a new coach and team. The media don't know squat about boxing, why should they all of a sudden become experts on boxing training and try to dictate to Joe or tell him what to do?
It's up to Joe himself to decide if he wants to make changes, nobody else. He's a grown ass man, who's done very well for himself financially from the sport. We can have our opinions but that's all they are, and they don't matter all that much in reality.

It's almost like it's a forgone conclusion that he's already lost... I say we just support him, see what happens, and go from there.

Sham, you're always entitled to an opinion on here. Glad to hear from you--always!

Now the issue: I can't see Joe winning this. He's just never shown the movement that's needed for AJ. And his defense sucks, and AJ has the size on him. Never happen! BUT, if it does, and Joe wins, it'll be great for him, his team, and NZ. A slow, 38 year old Ortiz almost did it. One punch landing flush and we have a huge upset. I'm a fan boy for Joe. Come on, Joe, make it happen!
I think joe can win, he's got plenty of attributes in his favour, i see it 60/40

I've got 200 on jp now so will be a nice weekend away if he were to do it

Nice.
I've got $10 USD on every round for Joe winning, at between 80 or 100/1 return. Not bad odds imo.
Inferno - what happened?

I never thought you would bet on JP in a million years....

The NZ media has convinced me he can't possibly lose

Also there's just too much value at the TAB

Nice to know there are still gentlemen here Die, thankyou forthe welcome.
AJ will have JP out of it by rd7.
What in heck has gotten into inferno, he can't really believe JP can seek and conquer.....? He doesn't have the wherewittal.
First off, Shamrock great to see you back gracing this forum.  I hope you are keeping well.

Msreef, my earlier comment related to how the NZ Media would handle a JP loss and was in reply to Nigs hypothetical question.

You are right, the NZ media know nothing about boxing and throughout JP's career have relied upon KB and Higgins for insight and angles to cover Joe's fights and his progress.  Let me just say that KB and Higgins have often blurred fantasy and fact when selling Joe's opponents to the media and paying public.  Call it marketing, whatever but, the NZ media sure lap it up..

Should JP's 'superior footwork, speed and skills' be negated by punishing jabs and thunderous rights hands - and his granite jaw crack!  Then, the NZ media should ask questions and seek the opinion from experts outside the Team.  Personally, I think JP desperately needs a  new coach and environment.  I also know it will never happen.  The media will ask THAT question too - if Joe is outclassed and falls.
