Of course, AJ hits harder than Dimitrenko.

But an interesting comparison in some ways...

YES! Izu definitely needs to be pulled into the camp to help prep for AJ. I'm bummed we haven't seen Izu post Breazeale, hopefully he'll be back soon, likewise with Andy Ruiz...
Joseph Parker laughs at 'ridiculously low' offer to fight Anthony Johsua

Joseph Parker and his promoter David Higgins are adamant the WBO belt is worth a decent chunk of any purse from a unification fight with Anthony Joshua.

Boxing promoter David Higgins is prepared to walk away from trying to arrange a heavyweight title unification fight for Joseph Parker against Anthony Joshua after receiving a "ridiculously low" offer from counterpart Eddie Hearn.

Higgins is adamant New Zealand boxer Parker deserves at least 40 per cent of a fight against Joshua, the IBF and WBA champion, and won't back down from that. Hearn obviously isn't close to that with his offer.

"I got this weird email from Eddie's email address, but he must have been hacked," Higgins told Sky Sports. "He made the most ridiculously low offer. It could have been the most insulting offer in boxing history.

Anthony Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn drive a hard bargain.

"He's got my number if he wants to actually make a respectable offer.

"Joseph has earned the right. He's going to put it all on the line and deserves a fair payday. The terms they offered disrespect every kid in the world who wants to become heavyweight world champion and set their family up for life."

Higgins said Parker laughed when he relayed Hearn's offer to him.

Hearn is also negotiating with WBC champion Deontay Wilder for a unification fight, believing that is the bigger bout. Higgins says he's happy to let that progress and Parker, the WBO champion, can come into the unification frame after that.

"We will come to England and fight AJ, but 40 per cent is the bottom line and I can give my word now, not one per cent less," Higgins told Sky Sports.

"They pay us 40 per cent and not a cent less, or they will fight Wilder, who will obviously win and then we'll fight Wilder 50-50. If they want to go fight Wilder, they can, and then we'll fight Wilder on a 50-50 basis later in the year, once he has all three belts."

Parker has viable options to keep him busy with Australian Lucas Browne ready to rumble in March in a trans-Tasman fight that could be lucrative. Fights in China, the United States and Russia are also on the table.

Parker doesn't have to make a mandatory defence until the end of next year so is eager to fight a couple of voluntary bouts if the unification talks stumble as they appear to be doing.

Sounds like they're bottling it to me.....
And IF Wilder fights AJ and IF Wilder beats AJ, why would they go 50-50 in a fight with Parker? I think Higgins is on another planet.... They clearly have no confidence in beating AJ as they just want a big payday. Why not beat Joshua for £1-2million and then demand £25million in a rematch? Best Parker sticks to the Aussie journeyman drug cheat or the Japanese fella....

So they should take a 5-10% split???
I do like the 40% split, but would go down to 33% if forced to. IF Wilder beats AJ, there will certainly be a rematch. If Wilder wins again, and let's say it IS 50/50, that would still be LESS than the 20% or so that AJ is offering. AJ draws, Wilder doesn't. Maybe it's just the principle of the thing.

Parker and Higgins Say they are very confident of beating joshua, why not take £2million? It will certainly be the biggest payday of Parkers career and then fight him again for 10x plus that? Parkers not worth 40%, he doesnt bring enough to the table. Just the crappy WBO belt. Team Parker are just pricing themselves out of fight because its easier to fight 2nd rate unworthy contenders and not get challeged or beat.
Hearn wants Wilder & Joshua on same card in March

Andy Brooks - November 13, 2017 1 Comment

Promoter Eddie Hearn is pushing to have heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder fight on the same card in March or April before matching them up against each other in the summer.

Hearn wants to build up the Joshua vs. Wilder unification fight anyway he can before putting them in with each other next year. Since the unbeaten Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) wasn’t receptive to Hearn’s idea of fighting Dillian Whyte on February 3, he wants to put Bronze Bomber on the same card with Joshua in March.

Whether that will do much to increase the interest in the Joshua-Wilder fight in the boxing world is open for debate. It’s probably a wasted effort on Hearn’s part. The boxing fans will want to see Wilder and Joshua fight each other regardless. They don’t need to fight on the same card in March for the fans want to see them square off.

“We had a good breakfast meeting with Shelly [Finkel] and Al [Haymon]. Everyone’s on the same page,” said Hearn to secondsout. “It’s the biggest fight in world boxing. We’re going to work on venues and dates. We spoke about both fighting on the same card in March, and then fighting in June or July. It’s going to be difficult on the financials and the split. We’re all trying to see if we can get it over the line. If I was Deontay’s promoter, he wouldn’t be able to walk down the street without people knowing who you are. You are the world heavyweight champion. I think we need to build both of them here, but maybe we won’t have time.”

The only way to build up the Joshua vs. Wilder fight for it to be huge would be to wait 2 to 3 years before eventually matching them. That’s not realistic. Wilder and Joshua could lose to one of the contenders before then, and that would ruin their mega-fight. It only takes one big shot for a champion to be unseated by a hungry contender.

With Joshua holding down the IBF and WBA heavyweight titles, he’ll be expected to fight good contenders, and he could lose to one of them before he faces Wilder. Joshua could even lose to Tyson Fury next year. Joshua isn’t one of those types of talents that give you a sense of confidence that he’s going to be able to hold onto his titles for years without losing. He’s not that type of talent.
Mr higgins is making himself look pathetic here, he's like the annoying kid at school who nobody likes but gets real loud when 2 other people are fighting.

First off mr higgins you already ducked wilder last year when called out and secondly even if wilder does beat joshua, the guy with the ring belt, the wbc, ibf and wba isnt going to give your ass 50/50 .

In fact he would probably offer you less than what hearn is offering.

Sit down and stop embarrassing yourself.
